The story of Beachside Bunches began back in 2021 with garlic! I wanted to build a business doing something I loved as well as aligning with my lifestyle. At first, I thought growing garlic on my suburban block would tick all those boxes. After a couple of years of trial and error with different varieties, I realised that due to our mild climate, I couldn’t reliably produce the large, strongly flavoured garlic I had hoped for. So, I decided to focus on something I could grow well: FLOWERS!

I’ve always had flowers in my garden and had even sold a few through my street stall. Kangaroo paw, proteas, and sunflowers all grew well and people loved them! I read countless books and articles, watched hundreds of YouTube videos, and experimented with growing all my flowers from seed. Though I had many failures, I refused to give up and eventually found a level of success in seed-raising and growing.

In 2024, during my first year, I converted most of my front and back lawn into flower beds. I enriched the soil with compost, grew green crops and planted a variety of flowers. Now, in my second year, I’m refining my growing techniques, still on a steep learning curve, but committed to growing without chemicals and offering freshly picked, locally grown flowers at my street stall.
